Overcoming challenges
The brief, and how we landed it
The challenge
The main contractor's programme gave the joinery package a sequence of 11 just-in-time drops — material arriving early had nowhere to be stored, and late material idled a whole trade crew. The architect's oak veneer spec was a European-sourced product at a price and lead time the budget could not carry. Winter shipping to Oslo demanded weatherproof crating and heated quay handling.
How we delivered
We sourced and qualified an equivalent veneer, running side-by-side sample panels for the architect's approval against the original. All 11 drops were produced, cut-to-size and packed as zone-labelled kits matched to the contractor's sequence, shipped on a rolling schedule from our buffer stock. Glass and mesh panels shipped in weatherproof crates with handling instructions accepted by the Oslo terminal.

Value engineering on this project
The qualified veneer equivalent landed 33% below the specified European material while passing the architect's side-by-side panel review. Nesting all cut-to-size panels in our CNC programming raised board yield from 71% to 86%, funding the buffer-stock programme at no extra cost. Zone-labelled kit packing let the contractor's crew install straight from the crate, removing their quoted sorting labour.
