Overcoming challenges

The brief, and how we landed it

The challenge

The designer's package mixed 38 unique pieces in nine material palettes, and the client's move-in date was fixed around a school term. Two stone dining tables had to pass a glazed atrium door with a 900 mm clear opening. The designer needed sign-off samples for every finish before production could start.

How we delivered

We ran all nine finish palettes through one sampling sprint, shipping approved boards within four weeks of RFQ. Stone tables were engineered with demountable bases and split tops, jointed in-room using concealed fixings. Production was sequenced so the full package consolidated into a single delivery, unpacked and positioned by the local crew against our room-set drawings.

Value engineering on this project

Consolidating nine finish palettes into one sampling sprint avoided three separate sample rounds and their courier costs. Demountable stone table construction removed the crane lift quoted for the glazed atrium. Two occasional tables were re-based on a shared pedestal design, letting one CNC programme serve both pieces.
